Walter H. "Skip" Bliss Jr.

        Walter “Skip” H. Bliss Jr. of Marathon NY, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 89 at home with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence Bliss, father, Walter Bliss Sr., step mother, Velma Bliss, and sister, Marilyn “Jeanie” Wagner. He is survived by his wife Sandra (Butler) Bliss of 67 years; daughter Donna (Tom Galvin) Bliss; son, David (Corey) Bliss; granddaughters, KayLeigh (Dustin) Contri and Kaitlyn (Timothy Clemons) Bliss; great grandchildren; Kaiden, Kooper, and Emmalynn Cornell; Hailey, Paityn, and Brody Contri; brother, Robert (Diane) Bliss; sister, Darlene (Mo) Kinner; and many nieces and nephews. Skip was born and raised in Marathon, NY. He was an Army Veteran and local businessman running Marathon Mobile Milling and his hay business and was retired from BOCES. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, October, 9 from 4-7 pm at the Marathon American Legion Post 617. Donations in his memory can be made to MAVAC  P.O. Box 132 Marathon, NY 13803.
