Virginia M. Lewis

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of Gina Lewis.

She passed away on February 15th at her home on the hill with her fiance Mark and fur-babies Snooki, Saki, Sadie and Vinnie by her side. Gina was born Oct 13, 1959 in Sullivan County, NY.

Gina graduated with High Honors from Binghamton University (2016) with a Bachelor of Science - Human Development degree. Shortly after graduation she began the career that she was so passionate about, helping others as a Broome County Social Worker.

Gina had a life-long love of gardening that she shared with everyone she could. She enjoyed spending countless hours feeding the birds and giving tours in her beautiful gardens. Every occasion became a special occasion; as she loved her Pampered Chef and cooking for family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Robert Lewis, Evelyn Palulis and brothers George and Jimmy. Gina is survived by her fiance Mark Kennedy; Sister Peggy; children Graham (Amanda) MacDonald, Jay Townsend; and grandson Ryan MacDonald (Samantha). She is also survived by Mark's children; Jimmy (Katie) Kennedy, Justine (Thomas) Boburka, Emily Clarke; and grandchildren Jillian, Owen, Addison, Jameson, Natalie and  Avery.

She touched the lives of many including several nieces and nephews. Many weekends were spent painting ceramics with dear Aunt Chris. Those especially dear to her heart were daughter-in-law Marcy Pratt, Tammie Robertson, Patti Gibson, Connie Vandeburg, “Barn”, Aunt Sally and Uncle Chuck, Aunt Gerri, Jessica Warren, Amber Burns, Deb Kennedy and Frank Woodruff; and life long friends Scott and Linda Osier.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 5:30-7 pm at Sunset Memorial Services, 2659 Main St, Whitney Point, NY 13862.  All social Distancing guidelines will be followed. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 27th at 3 pm at the American Legion Post 1305, 820 Lower Stella Ireland Rd, Binghamton, NY 13905
