Thelma Underwood Obituary

Thelma Grace (Lincoln) Underwood, age 78, peacefully passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, following a short battle with cancer. After a month at UHS she returned home where she was surrounded by her family, while in comfort care.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Laura (Grennell) Lincoln, and her childhood sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Harry S. Underwood, who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her loving brother, Larry (Jim) Lincoln, along with her five children, Darlene (Lyle) Weber, Cindi (Tom) Perce, Tina (Jim) Perce, Herb (Theresa) Underwood and Harry (Samantha) Underwood. Thelma is also survived by many grandchildren.

Her grandchildren are Christina (Tom) Menhenett, Danielle (Kevin) Weber, Brent (Stephanie) Weber, Elora (Kyle) Weber, Christopher Weber, Kyle (Angie) Trembley, Shane (Jamie) Trembley, Wyatt (Angie) Perce, Justin Perce, Jacob Perce, Jessie Perce, Misty (Christopher) Underwood, Herbert Jr Underwood, Louis (Kaley) Underwood, Travis (Amber) Underwood, Raymond (Alecia) Karpinski, Vincent (Krista) Karpinski, Robert, James, Kyle, Maria, Karpinski. Chaz (Denise) Underwood, Jared (Kacy) Underwood, Tyler (Chelsea) Underwood. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, 40 in all.

Thelma lived her life for her family and was always delighted to have their visits and loved cuddling the little ones on her lap. She also enjoyed watching them play in the yard, either on the swing or running in the mud. They were the light of her life.

Thelma was an avid artist who loved to dabble with Acrylic painting until Neuropathy stole the feelings in her hands. She and dad enjoyed their family gatherings, the casino, the beach, golfing, camping and karaoke. Her most favorite was their day trips to the lake, in Ithaca.

She was an amazing wife, mother, friend, and sister, who had a compassion to her like no other. Her genuine, loving soul will be missed dearly, by all. May she love, dance and sing for all eternity.

A funeral will be held by Sunset Memorial at the convenience of the family.
