Sharon M. Winston, 

Sharon, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at Mercy House in Endicott, NY.  

She was born on December 11th, 1957 in Cortland, New York to Herbert and Phyllis Pond. 

She graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1975.  She then began her journey with IBM that lasted for over 20 years and continued on to Borg Warner Automotive for an additional 18 years.  She was a very hard working career oriented person who was always looking for new challenges and opportunities to advance. 

She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was very dedicated and always offered a helping hand to anyone in need.  

She was sadly diagnosed with Glioblastoma grade IV in February of 2023. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she always had determination and hope.  When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. She always remained positive and continued each day as if her life would go on forever.  The courage and strength that she carried with her was uplifting to everyone around her and showed us all how unbelievably brave she was.  

She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Brent) Weber, Shawn Winston; step-son Stephen Winston; grandchildren, Brittney (Meghan) Randall, Zachary (Taylor) Randall, Brooklyn Zduniak; siblings David Pond, Forest Pond, Douglas (Sandy) Pond, Rick Pond, Paul Pond, Allen (Debbie) Pond. She is also survived by her closest friend Carol Wood as well as several nieces, nephews and many more. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert & Phyllis Pond; husband, Robert Winston; siblings, Kathleen Gregory Pond, Gary Pond, Clem Pond.
