Russell Kenneth Wandell also known to many as Tange went to be with the Lord August 1st, 2023, peacefully at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Russell was born to Raymond and Rose Wandell on March 8, 1953. Predeceased by his parents and brothers Eugene and Gary Wandell. Survived by his loving Sherry and daughters Sabrina (Marcus) Knoblauch and Nicole (Gabriel) Crawford. Grandchildren, Harlen and Cymbri Jefferson and Macy and Macade Knoblauch, his nephew Ron McNeil who was like a son to him and his Scottish Terrier Japper. Through the years Russell was an avid gardener, coin collector, raising his chickens, and member of the Richford Congregational Church. Russell took immense pride in being a father and grandfather and loved dearly. He always looked forward to seeing his friends and family, watching his nephews Scott, Steve, and Stuart play football, and unbeknownst to many could be found practicing his video game skills through the night to ensure a win over his grandchildren the next day. It's no secret that he had a sense of humor and his grandkids enjoyed playing pranks on him every chance they had. He was definitely one of a kind and was loved immensely by those that knew him best. He found great peace with his decision to donate his body to medical research. His family would like to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff at The Mercy House for their unwavering compassion and selflessness. We know he is in God’s hands now. The family will be carrying out his wishes of no services.
