On June 14th, 2021, Robert J. Blass made his journey home. He passed peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.
Bob was predeceased by his Parents, Richard and Loleita Blass; Brothers, Rick, Bill and Bruce Blass; Nephews, Jeffrey and Nathan Blass; and Father-in-law, Robert Sturdevant. I can only imagine the glorious welcome he received at Heaven’s gates.
He left behind his Wife and best friend of 14 years, Robin Blass; Sons, Chad (Megan) Blass and Caleb (Lyndsey) Blass; Step Daughters, Amber Darrow, Brittany (Nick) Harris and Kendall (Ryan) Webster; Grandchildren, Nathaniel, Christian, Gianna, Max, Carly, Carson and Cameron; Mother-in-law, Virginia Sturdevant; Sisters-in-law, Pam Blass and Barbara (Wayne) Gorsline; Brother-in-law, Robert (Michelle) Sturdevant.
Bob was a Veteran who proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Norton Sound from 1977 to 1981. He was a Postmaster for the US Postal Service from 1983 to 1999 and also worked at Bradco/Wickes from 2000 to 2009. His most recent employment was as bus driver with the Whitney Point Central School District from 2015 to 2019.
Robin and Bob shared a special kind of love and had many travels and adventures together. He was an amazing co-worker, friend, father and grandfather. He could always be counted on for help, good advice, a great meal and a good time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A special thanks for the outpouring of love for Bob from our community, family and friends and also to Dr. Chung Han Lee and his team at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital.
