Oct 26, 1940 – March 21, 2022
Whitney Point, NY
Bruce went to his Heavenly home surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of March 21st at the age of 81. He was born in Oneonta, NY to Rev. Roger B. Glazier and Lois T. Harding Glazier. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother-in-law Jack Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise (Galloway), his son Chris (Marian) Glazier, daughter Tracie (Michael) Baxter, grandchildren Kea (Tony), Cara Glazier and Abigail, Alexander, and Daniel Baxter. He is also survived by his sisters Ruth Hunter and Mary Lu (Charles) Mathis; 2 brothers-in-law Edward and Wayne Galloway; his faithful Collie Roger; several nieces, nephews, close friends, and his congregation.
Bruce graduated from Sidney High School, earned his bachelor's degree from Lycoming College, his master’s degree from Cornell University, and his Doctorate from Southwest Bible College & Seminary. He was a Scout Executive for the Susquenango Council and a Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America Troop #158. He worked at the NYS Dept. of Labor for most of his career and held many titles there, the last was as a tech. consultant after his official retirement. He was a certified pilot and enjoyed the time in the air flying planes – he said it brought him closer to God. He loved time in his Woodshop and quite often you could find him there teaching others his love of the craft or building one of his railroad models. He was a past member of the Nimmonsburg Rotary. He pastored the congregation of Countryside Christian Chapel for 47 years and during that time he shared his love for God, Nature, and his weekly guarantee that “something good was going to happen to each and every one of us that very hour”.
A celebration of life for Bruce and Louise will be held Sunday April 24, 2022 at Chenango Valley State Park Great Hall/Pines Pavilion from 12-6 PM.
Bruce loved his family unconditionally, especially his grandchildren – they could do no wrong. The legacy he has left behind will continue on through all that knew and loved him.
