Raymond A. Porter

Raymond A. Porter, 86 of Whitney Point passed away on July 21st. He was predeceased by his wife Hermione in 2011 and his son Randall in 2009. He is survived by two sons Robert Porter of Elmira, NY and Jason (Nina) Porter of Apalachin, NY. Predeceased by 2 brothers Allen and Richard, survived by 3 brothers, Leon, Doug and Frank. He is also survived by 5 granddaughters, Amber, Katie, Marissa, Seana, Nikita, and 1 grandson Chris. As well as several great grandchildren. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was retired from Universal Instruments. He was known later in life to be someone who was always willing to help his family and neighbors even if that meant mowing their yards for them, snow blowing, or any other type of handywork needing to be done. He also enjoyed his yearly summer camping trips with his grandson Chris and good friend Charlotte. His loss will be felt by all those that knew and loved him. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
