Peter T. Rood

Peter T. Rood, 76, of Whitney Point, NY passed away on Saturday , May 31, 2025.  Peter was predeceased by his parents; George Rood, Ruth Pollard Volz, and step-father Charles Volz.  He was also predeceased by his brother, David Rood.  Peter is survived by his wife, Karen Rood and their dog Reggie, his sister Sally (Tom) Kelly, nephews Timothy (Paula) and Gregory Rood and his beloved Pollard cousins.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joanne Sereda and nephews Michael(Natalie) Lang and Joseph (Brianna) Lang.  Peter served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.  He was a man of many talents and with the help of friends, especially lifelong friend Jim Carr, he built the house where he and Karen lived in Whitney Point.  He will be missed by many especially his group of IBM friends known to him as The Board of Directors, and his dear friend, Debbie Sawtell.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
