Mark D. Sears, Sr., 63, of Richford, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday,
December 30, 2022.
Mark was born in Johnson City, NY on May 24, 1959 to Constance D. Howland (Sears)
and Ivan R. Sears. He is predeceased by his late wife, Mary Sears. He is survived by his 3
children, Trisha N. Sears (Race), Mark D. (Ashley) Sears, Jr. and Carrie A. (Trevor) Backes.
Also, survived by 8 grandchildren, Mitchell (Shellsea), Maiyli, Malacki, Kaiden-Scot, Logan,
Conor, Kylee and Tanner; 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Delilah and Aurora.
Those close to Mark knew his biggest virtue was his non-judgmental character. Mark
was a simple man, who made the best of his time and never missed an opportunity to have child
like fun with family. To name a few, whether it was deciding to overturn a canoe in the lake or
surfing on the hood of his vehicle to get a laugh out of his audience. In turn, Mark had a
contagious laugh to those blessed to hear it. Marks greatest talent was drawing “Snoopy” per
request of his family. Mark was a man who loved his family fiercely and gave the most beautiful
greeting cards for all occasions. Marks spontaneous personality and love for travel led to his
career as a CDL driver for Werner’s trucking, amidst other trucking companies. He was an avid
NASCAR fan.
Marks greatest legacy left to his family would be to live without an agenda, hence his
quote, “live in the moment!”
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Our family wishes to thank all the hospice staff for their dedication and love to our father.
Thank you and may God bless you for your servants heart.
