Marilynn Cassell Dunham peacefully passed away on September 8, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Gertrude Cassell. She moved to Lisle in 1923. She is predeceased by her husband, James Leo Dunham on March 12, 2005, her wonderful grandson, Jason Dunham on March 2, 1993, daughter-in-law of 33 years, Karen Dunham Hand, sister, Virginia Glezen on May 30, 2016, and nephew, Allen Glezen.
Marilynn is survived by three sons: James C. Dunham and his wife Roberta Glezen, Jack E. Dunham and his wife Debbie, and Bradley E. Dunham all of Lisle; seven grandchildren: Jill, Robert (Erin), Brandon, Jeory, Kevin (Liya), Keith (Amanda) and Jeffrey (Amanda); twelve great grandchildren: Brynn, Ryan, Madison, Colt, Matthew, Maeli, LeAnn, Nathan, Jase, Karalyn, Reagan and Cassell; four nephews: Barry, Dale, Gregory Glezen and Bill Dunham. She is also survived by several cousins in California and Connecticut.
Marilynn was a 70+ year member of the Center Lisle Congregational Church. She taught Sunday School for 34 years. She is also a member of its Church Guild. She served as Treasurer of the Ministers Salary Fund for over 50 years and was a deacon of the church.
She was the first and only woman to serve as the Supervisor for the Town of Lisle. She was elected in 1981 and served the town for six years. Marilynn graduated from Whitney Point Central School in 1941 and attended Ridley’s Secretarial School. She was employed as a legal secretary in the Law Offices of J. Carver Glezen and Daniel S. Dickinson, Jr. for many years. She accompanied Mr. Dickinson to Albany the last three years he was Assemblyman, as his secretary. She was also a member of the Whitney Point Central School Alumni Association.
The family will receive friends at Center Lisle Congregational Church, 9670 State Route 79, Lisle, NY 13797, Monday, September 13, 2021, 11:30 – 12:30, with the funeral immediately to follow.
