Obituary

Margaret “Peg” C. Davis, 81, of Marathon passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald; parents, Gerald and Helen McDonald; brother James McDonald and sister Joan Cargin. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Doug) Smith, Debby (Rick) Gilbert, Pam (Ron) Rackett, and Eric (Nikki) Davis as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Peg was a 57-year member of the Marathon Fire Department Auxiliary serving the entire time as treasurer. She was also the treasurer of several other organizations including the Marathon Booster Club, Cub Scouts and many bowling leagues. She was an avid bowler and coached the local youth for many years at Marathon Lanes. The family will receive friends September 28, 2022, from 4-6 pm at the Marathon Civic Center, Marathon, NY. Burial will be in Marathon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gerry McDonald Award, c/o Marathon Junior-Senior High School, PO Box 339, 1 Park St, Marathon, NY 13803 or Marathon Fire Department Auxiliary, PO Box 488, Marathon, NY 13803.
