Luann Costley Shepard

LuAnn Costley Shepard of Whitney Point, NY, passed away on July 21, 2024, at Albany Medical Center due to health complications. Born to JoAnne and Eden Costley on June 2, 1957, LuAnn was a long-time resident of the Whitney Point community. LuAnn’s journey through life was marked by her devoted life to her husband and the love of her pets, specifically, the Saint Bernard breed, often attending and participating in competition with her prized dogs. She also ran a small dog rescue for years, finding homes for those rescued from puppy mills. LuAnn graduated from Whitney Point Central School in 1975, where she participated in both the school band and Varsity Track & Field, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Binghamton in Human Development, Family Studies and Related Services in 2004. On May 16th 2008, LuAnn married the love of her life, Leo Shepard. Together, they shared a home together filled with the joy of each other and their beloved pets. LuAnn is predeceased by her father, Eden Costley and survived by her mother, JoAnne Costley. LuAnn is also survived by her three brother’s, Jeff & Cindy Costley of Endicott, Shawn and Christine Costley of Whitney Point and Scott & Kathy Costley of Vestal, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on August 3rd , 11:00 AM at the First Union Christian Church on Hooper Road, Endicott, NY.
