Linda E. Gage

Linda E. Gage of Lisle N.Y. passed away at the age of 80 on April 23, 2024. Linda was born to Eugene and Thelma Desmond May 15th, 1943. She is predeceased by siblings Martha and Chuck Desmond.  Linda is survived by her husband of 64 years Dale R. Gage. Her brother; Edwin Desmond, children Robin (Rick) Beck, Dale Gage , Shawn (Danielle) Gage, Danielle Gage, Jaquelyn (Corey) Gage. Along with 40 plus grand and great-grandchildren. She worked as a bus driver for Whitney Point schools for over 30 years, where each child over the years on her bus were like her own. After retiring she became a cook and corrections officer for Cortland County.

When you think of Linda you would describe her as HOME, her door and heart were a revolving door open to everyone in good and bad times. She was fearless, loyal, independent, and a driving force with a heart of gold. You knew that she would always be a phone call away and the first one to show up.  A devoted wife whose respect, love, laughter, and dedication in her marriage were nothing but inspiring. Linda was very loyal and proud of her faith and religion serving her family and those around her as Jehovah would, she loved sharing her faith with family, bringing her grandchildren to share in bible studies and having them join in service at the kingdom hall. Linda’s true passion was for her family she was always teaching, nurturing and supporting them near and far. Enjoying every minute, the love brought to her by all the children young and grown. You would find her dancing around the house, shopping on HSN, laughing at her dogs, canning strawberry jam, making rhubarb pies, sewing or creating paintings and drawings that were beautiful and unique.  On summer days you might find her barefoot in the yard surrounded by her beautiful gardens or swinging on the porch, enjoying the sound of wind chimes while sipping tea. Her love for travel, flea marketing, painting furniture her husband made, decorating, and DIY was something of pure inspiration. The strong willed, fearless leader with warm open arms and an Infectious laugh will forever be missed by all, but we find peace knowing she will always be in each and everyone’s heart supporting and encouraging us in different ways.

 Family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of life at the Lisle Fire Station, Friday May 17, 2024, at 6pm.
