Leonard W. Steele Jr. of Whitney Point, NY was born on February 11, 1950 passed away on July 7, 2023.

He is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Madeline Steele, his brothers Walter and Leonard, his son Dennis and his beloved dog, Buddy, sister-in-law Jeri Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Joyce. Also, his sons, Darren (Christine) Alabama, Michael ( Donna) Texas, and Jonathon (Chauntel), Harpursville. His stepchildren, Daniel (Martie) Sager Afton, Christina (Thomas) Szczepanski South Carolina, Jessica (John) Cornell, Whitney Point, Tiffany (Mitch) Quail, Whitney Point, Melanie (Anthony) LaDue, Whitney Point. His sister Darlene (Marvin) Brown, stepsisters Jane (Mike) Stebella, Judy Lawhawn sister-in-laws  Karen Davis, Phyllis (Fred) Markwart, Linda (Don) Glenn, Kelley (Todd) Booska, brother in law Ronald (Sharon) Edwards, 28 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He loved each and everyone.

Leonard worked as a laborer for many years. He also was captain of the fire police in Brisbon. He retired from Whitney Point Variety store where everyone became his family. He loved people and enjoyed talking with everyone.

Camping and fishing were his passion. He also did wood working.

The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Services LLC 2659 Main St. Whitney Point, NY Sunday July 16, 2023 from1pm until service time at 2pm, with Pastor Scott Ferguson from Christian Church of Fellowship of Kirkwood officiating.
