Kenneth E. Hoag Jr.
Kenneth Edward Hoag Jr., 91, of Whitney Point, NY, passed away quietly and peacefully
on July 4 th , 2026, at The Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
He was born on May 10 th ,1935 in Lackawanna, PA to Kenneth E. Hoag Sr. & Marie
Louise [Matthews] Hoag. Ken attended Whitney Point Schools and went on to work 32
years as a Millwright for Endicott Forging in Endicott, NY. After retirement from there,
he worked closely with his son, Bob, in Hoag’s Garage, a vehicle repair shop located at
Ken’s home.
He will be fondly remembered for his lifelong talents for tinkering with, repairing &
fabricating most anything he got his hands on, cutting firewood for many years with
bother-in-law Victor [Butch] Jenks, and being a hard worker. He loved to go camping
with family, fishing, bowling, racing with his brother, Norman, for a short time at the old
racetrack formerly located in Glen Aubrey, NY, and helping anyone in the community
that needed a hand.
He was preceded in death by: Father Ken Sr, Mother [Marie] Louise, Brother Norman,
Sister Jean, Stepson Tim, and wives: Mary Lu, Beverly, Gerladine, and Joyce.
He is survived by: Daughter Debbie Hoag, Son Robert [Lisa] Hoag, Stepdaughter Brenda
Edsall, Stepson Robert Harding, 11 grandchildren, and multiple great-grandchildren,
nieces & nephews. He is also survived by special companion and significant other,
Mazie Michalek, who made him smile, shared in special times, and consoled and
comforted him through the rough times.
Calling hours to be held on Monday July 13 th , 2026, from 5:30pm-8:00pm at Sunset
Memorial Services – 2659 Main St., Whitney Point, NY 13862. A private burial
Service will be held on Tuesday July 14 th , 2026, at 10:00am at Maple Grove Cemetery,
Castle Creek, NY.
