Kathryne “Kay”Stissi (92) of Whitney Point,NY passed away peacefully on Thursday December 28, after a heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer’s.
Kay was predeceased by her loving husband Angelo Stissi. Her parents Louis & Anna Fleury. Along with three siblings & their soulmates Loraine Liotta (Dominick) Audrey McHugh (Gary) Thomas Fleury (Loretta).
She was also survived by son Andrew, daughter Annmarie Donlon (Robert Nash) and her grandchildren Nicholas & Joseph Donlon. She was also survived by her brother Louis Fleury(favorite sister in law)Betty McCollum Fleury & sister Elizabeth (Betty) Fleury & many nephews & nieces.
Kay was always a hardworking, straight shooter kind of lady. If she loved you, you knew it. If she didn’t, you would know that as well.
Kay worked in the office of Woolworth & Woolco in both Long Island & Manhattan for over 20 years where she was a dedicated & devoted employee finally retiring in 1996.
In 2000, Kay moved from Lindenhurst, Long Island to Whitney Point, NY. She enjoyed volunteering at The Broome County Senior Center. Kay was always up for anything. She never stood still & never took a nap. She would love to drink a cold beer, play cards, dominos & shuffle board, wii bowling anything for some good competition. Kay also loved to drop a “F”bomb like a sailor. That might be the secret to her longevity. She never sugarcoated anything for anyone. Kay was a lifetime Mets fan, a native New Yorker, proudly Brooklyn born & raised. But, nobody could ever be more genuine than her!!! Behind that suit of armor was a pure heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone.
Kay was also a HUGE lover of ALL animals -
Especially dogs. She would much rather be surrounded by K9s than people.
