Joyce L. Gance
June 12, 1934 – October 13, 2025
Our beautiful mother left this earth to finally be reunited with our dad, Vito “Bill” Gance (September 10,
1966). She is survived by her three children, Petrina Sue (Harold) Rommel, Joe (Karen) Gance and Jerry
(Rose) Gance. Her pride was her two granddaughters, Alexandra Gance (Chris) and Dr. Lea Gance (John
Le Vine).
She often worked two jobs, retiring from the U-E school district as their kitchen manager. She ran into
many of the students that still remembered her and that always amazed her. She outlived her parents,
Victor and Theresa Cook, and all of her siblings. She loved a good garage sale and occasionally, a trip to
a casino. She lunched with many of her girlfriends who have all also passed on. In later years, she
enjoyed the new friends she made at the Yesteryears Program. We would also like to thank the staff at
General Hospital, Memorial 3, for all the loving care they gave her in her final days. There will be a
celebration of her life at a later date.
