Jean P Tyler , 81 , of Whitney Point, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at home.
Jean was born on December 20, 1941 in Binghamton NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Ella Terrell. Jean was a lifelong resident who married the love of her life John (Toby) Tyler on August 21,1965 at St. Patrick’s Church in Whitney Point NY and together they raised two daughters.
Jean attended Johnson City High School. Jean was a dedicated employee at First City Bank in Whitney Point for many years before beginning a career in manufacturing. Jean was an assembler at Universal / Dover Electronics where she made lifelong friends that she cherished. Jean was a member of the Whitney Point Auxiliary. Jean and her husband were involved in many social clubs together and loved the Whitney Point community.
Jean was always a cheerful woman and cared deeply for all of her family and friends. She was the beloved matriarch of the family and was best known for reaching out to check on everyone, even if just to chat about the weather. She loved to dance, and watch movies and would often sing her favorite songs. Jean had many hobbies including bowling and volleyball.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved daughters Pamela (Lonnie) Tyler-Lowe and Patricia Tyler-Sack. Her grandchildren Ashley (Steven) Condie, John Sack, Cody Lowe and Corey Lowe and a cherished great grandson Sylas Condie. As well as a devoted sister Ella Szabo and many nephews and nieces. Jean was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband John (Toby) Tyler; a sister, Judith Jones ; and a brother, Edward Terrell.
The family would like to give special thanks to Chris and Micky Romain for their ongoing support and being great neighbors and to Sunset Memorial for their kindness and assistance during this difficult time.
Jean will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Whitney Point along side her husband Toby. There will be a celebration of life held for Jean on October 15, 2023 at “My Uncles Place” restaurant located at 120 E Service Rd, Binghamton NY 13901 from 1 to 4 pm.
