Helen E. Bidwell, 76, of Whitney Point, passed away peacefully, surrounded
by her family, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Willow Point Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
She was born on October 11, 1949, in Endicott, NY, she was the daughter of Jim and Kate (Lee)
Green. Helen graduated from Whitney Point Senior High School.
Helen was a retired employee of IBM Endicott. After retirement, Helen and Gary spent many
wonderful years in Florida, making Vero Beach their home and creating cherished memories,
before returning back to New York. Helen also enjoyed many years at Sandy Pond - Lake
Ontario, enjoying pontoon boat rides, and spending time with her family and friends. If Helen
wasn’t with her grandchildren, you could find her doing crossword puzzles or Sudoku, watching
soap operas, or enjoying a meal at the Whitney Point Diner with her husband.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gary, of 53 years, their two sons, Gary Jr.
(Nancy) and their family, Steven Morgan (Wendy), and their children, Emma and Ava, her
second son, Paul (Annette), their children and Helen’s two cherished grandchildren - the lights
of her life, Benjamin (Shannon) and Jenna, her great-granddaughter Gracelynn, whom she
adored and loved spending time with. In addition, she is also survived by her brother, Chuck
(Mary) Green, and their four children, Kelly, Katrina, Chris, and Corey, and several great nieces,
nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents.
The family will receive family and friends, Friday, March 27, 2026 from 10 a.m to 10:45 a.m. with
a memorial mass being celebrated at 11a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 51 Keibel Road, Whitney
Point, NY. A luncheon will follow at the church.
