Harold T. Hust, 88, of Glen Aubrey, NY went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29th.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce, brothers Bill (Rena) and Art (Penny), and brother-in-law Bob Davis. He is survived by sisters Shirley (Bernard) Wade and Claire Davis, his children Diane (Mark) Potter, Dan (Linda), Scott (Paula) and Joe (Cathy), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He served in the Army during the Korean War, and retired from IBM in 1987 after 34 years. He enjoyed camping with his family, loved gardening, and was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. He volunteered for many years in the Glen Aubrey fire department, was the Glen Aubrey Scoutmaster for over 15 years, was a little league coach, served at his church in many capacities, and served on the Town Board for the Town of Nanticoke. Before his wife’s passing, they were actively involved in the Whitney Point Golden Age Club.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Good Shepherd Fairview Home rehab floor for their excellent care and compassion in our Dad’s last days. The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Services 2659 Main St. Whitney Point, NY Wednesday May 2, 2018 from 11 am until service time at 1:30 pm. Arrangements are in the care of James Shara. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glen Aubrey fire department in Harold’s name.
