Frank H. Thon

Frank H. Thon, 85, of Marathon passed away on Saturday September 29, 2018. He was predeceased by his first wife Janet; 2 brothers, Bruce, Roger and his sister Dorothea. He is survived by his wife Jean; children, David (Patty) Thon, Nancy (Patrick) Canny; step children, Michael (Darcie) Pendall, Melinda Barnes and Matthew Pendall; 12 grand children, Leah Thon, Tyler Barnes, Margaret Thon, Cody Pendall, Tiara (Art) Wilson, Alexandra Pendall, Anna Canny, Hannah Pendall, Laura Canny, Samantha Pendall, Madison Pendall and Aliviah Pendall, one brother, Walter (June) Thon, many nieces, nephews and cousins. After twenty years of working for Prudential Insurance Frank established the Frank Thon Insurance Agency in 1974, served in the U.S. ARMY Honor Guard in Korea, was a member of the Marathon Lions Club, Virgil Town Board and served the community with many other organizations. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at 11am at the Marathon Presbyterian Church 3 E. Main St. Marathon, NY. The family will receive friends at the Marathon Presbyterian Church Tuesday October 2, 2018 from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CAPCO Marathon Family Resource Center 32 N.
