Our beloved mother Esther Laydoo went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024.
She is predeceased by her husband, Rupert Laydoo who died on September 18, 2015. She is also predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Alsworth Whorrall and her father, Morris Whorrall.
She is survived by her three children; Kevin Phillips (Sarah), Suzanne Burns (Robert) and Deborah Lauer. She also has three granddaughters, Jennifer Burns, Kathleen Burns and Bobbie Odell (Benjamin) and great grandson Gavin.
Esther dedicated 25 years of her life to education. She served as a Guidance Counselor in Binghamton, New York before retiring in 1999.
Esther Whorrall (maiden name) was baptized and became a member of Delaware Street Baptist Church on March 28, 1948. The pastor who baptized her was Rev. Dr. Calvin M. Thompson, Jr.
Esther became a member of Whitney Point First Baptist Church after purchasing a home in the Village.
Esther has requested that a special thank you be extended to Denise Ross for all her help.
The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Services, 2659 Main Street, Whitney Point, NY 13862 on Thursday September 19, 2024 from 10 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery South Otselic, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier at 212 N.
