Dorothy M. Gruesbeck McGrath White July 14, 1936 ~ August 17, 2023 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Dorothy Mae White passed away on Thursday August 17, 2023 at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Karon, Kenneth, Keith, and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Holbrook Her beautiful 8 grandchildren Thomas (Michelle), Ryan (Jamie), Tracie (Dave), Dan (Alicia) Barbara, Kevin (Michelle), Ashley (James), Matthew (Aubrey); and 13 precious great-grandchildren Tyler, Amelia, Jackson, Carley, Jacob, Jeremy, Braxtin, Lillian, Lauren, Khloe, Kayleigh, Owen, Parker. Her siblings William (Martha), Susan, Rodney (Marilyn), and sister-in-law Pauline; nieces, nephews, and cousins who will hold their memories of Dorothy to cherish. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband Kenneth McGrath and second husband Wilford White, her parents Robert A. and Esther Gruesbeck and her siblings Robert, and Jeanne Braen. Dorothy worked at Pall Trinity in Cortland, NY; was a 4-H club leader in Whitney Point where She taught many young children various skills including her favorite of sewing and quilting. With such a passion of sewing, she later had two fabric stores which she made many more friends and offered sewing lessons. She later moved to Georgia and then to Ocala, Florida becoming a manager of a Jo-Ann Fabrics and then retiring from management of the Racetrac Corporation. She spent many summers in New York visiting her family and enjoying time with her grandchildren. Visiting hour will be held Monday evening, 5:30 to 6:30pm, and Funeral service at 6:30pm August 21, 2023 at the Killawog United Methodist Church, 605 Jennings Creek Road Killawog, NY 13794 Memorial service will be at the Upper Lisle Cemetery, State Route 26, on Thursday evening, August 24, 2023 at 6 pm. The family is grateful for the tender loving care provided by the staff at Brookdale Vestal West and Absolut Care occupied by Hospice and Palliative Care. Our relationship with Mom and each other had grown stronger with the challenges that we have had to face because of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Now Sewing & quilting for the Angel’s
