Debra J. (Vinson) Chapman, of Willet NY, went to be with the Lord on December 27th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Leo F. Chapman, her daughter, Laura Lee Chapman, son, William L. Chapman (Christina Ellerson) and granddaughter Mandy Lynn Quail. She was predeceased by her mother, and brothers.
Deb was a caregiver by nature. She grew up in Chenango Forks, where she cared for many of her family members, prior to beginning her own family. She raised her children in Lisle, NY, where she was blessed to be a stay-at-home parent and provide loving support whenever it was needed. She enjoyed family activities such as fishing, camping and taking walks through nature. She had a knack for karaoke and a joy for singing that will live on in the hearts of those blessed to have heard her.
Deb spent the later years of her life enjoying the pond at her home, by “giving the pond a haircut”, feeding her fish, and protecting her cherished bullheads. She was always busy and did not like to sit still. Her love and support were at the heart of her family, and she fought with all she had to be able to continue that. She survived many of life’s battles, a strength that she ensured was inherited by her daughter, granddaughter and daughter-in-law. She was the type of woman you could always count on to lend a helping hand, a listening ear and a gentle piece of advice. Her words and comfort will live on in the lives she has touched, and her gentle laughter will be missed. She was of strong faith, and we find peace knowing she is looking down upon us from heaven.
The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Services LLC 2659 Main Street Whitney Point, NY 13862 Saturday January 18, 2025 from 11:30 am until service time at 12:30 pm.
