David R. Brigham Sr.

On Sept. 5, 2021 David R Brigham SR. passed away unexpectedly at home in the comfort of his bed watching TV. Dave was one to do things his own way and his passing was his final "My Way" moment.  Dave was born to Roger and Nellie Brigham of Vestal Center, NY on April 28, 1950. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Donna; daughter Jennifer (Mike), sons David Jr (Brandy), Brian (Cooper), Mike (Tanya), Joe (Ang), Papa's grandchildren, Shawanna, Josh, Bostwick, Ahlanna, Kira, Baya, Lorelei and great grandsons, Dakota, Derek and Ryan Jr.; Devoted sister Carol (John), she was his racing buddy; sister Patty (Wes); brother Kevin; brother in law Tim, Half siblings..Butchy, Pam(Sal), Marilyn. Best friend BOB and many other family and friends. Special love to Chuck Pitkins, his long time hunting and sporting friend. Dave was on cloud 9 when he and Chuck spent time together earlier this year. Dave was blessed and loved him very dearly. Dave was originally from Vestal Center and raised his children in Endicott and then took the family To Whitney Point and settled there as a long time resident. He often spoke of working at Smith Corona and then Endicott Forge.  Oh the stories he would tell!! His final job was one he really enjoyed and that was at Willow Point Nursing Home.  He was a maintenance mechanic and jack of all trades there...  Anyone needed anything fixed, he was the one they called to fix it.  Dave was awesome with the residents and always made time to make them smile. He was  was loved by residents and staff and missed him when he retired. Dave and Donna met at Willow Point and married in 2002. Dave's love of the outdoors was his passion.. Hunting, fishing, gardening, raising animals, or teaching others how to enjoy these things too. It could be as simple as sitting in a tree stand enjoying all of God's creation, to working hard baling hay on an orenry tractor to get the job done. All who knew him, loved him. He was an awesome husband, dad, papa and friend. He gave 150% of himself to others. Heaven gained an angel but the world lost a best friend. He will be in our hearts always and forever.  A graveside memorial will be on Friday Sept.17th at 11:00 in the Upper Lisle Cemetery on Rt. 26 Upper Lisle, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite wildlife foundation in Dave's name or just take time out of your busy lives and grab a loved on and go out and enjoy the nature around us. Dave will be smiling down on you... Love to all...
