"The goal in life is not to live forever, but to create something that does"
On August 24, 2022, Surrounded by those he loved most Charles " Chuck" Henry Hayes lll found his wings and went home.
Born on November 6th, 1954 to Charles and Wyona Hayes, Chuck grew up running his family farm in the town of Richford. At 20 years old he married the love of his life and together they would grow the family farm filling the barn stalls with cows, horses, chickens, and the occasional barn cat. When Chuck was not on the farm, you could guarantee he was watching a football game or searching the paper for the next auction he could go to. His love for John Deere tractors was apparent to all and his treasured tractors will always be a reminder of his constant search for that perfect display piece. The reward in watching his crops grow and knowing at the end of every day he put in a hard honest days’ work was what drove him until his final days when his body finally said "it's ok Chuck, it's time to rest”. However, nothing would ever fill his heart quite like his kids and grandkids. He made sure they grew up with pride in what they did, the kindness to help a neighbor and a special kind of love for the place they all call home.
After 50 years, Chuck has reunited with his father Charles Henry Hayes ll.
