Barry W. Fralick of Marathon, NY passed away on May 7, 2023. He was born December 8, 1952 in Cortland, NY, son of the late Harry and Agnes Vincent Fralick Tyler.
Barry graduated from Marathon Central School in 1971. In 1979, he purchased Advance Systems Identifications Company (now known as Advanced Graphics Company) from his father in law. He was also a founding partner at Fralick Enterprises Inc. with his son and at the time of his death he owned the Marathon Plaza, AutoShine Car Wash and several rental properties.
Barry was a 25 year member of the Marathon Lions Club where he was a baseball commissioner for several years and had been co-chair of the Marathon Lions Club Car Show for over 20 years. He was awarded Lion of the Year in 1993 and in 2003.
He was a Marathon Village Trustee from 1990 - 1992. He also served on the Family Health Network Board and was the driving force behind the forming of the Marathon Area Progress Association.
An avid classic car enthusiast, he owned several classic cars over the years and loved attending the many car shows in and around the area. He especially loved ’55 Chevrolets.
Barry is survived by his wife of 51 years Rosemarie (Kirchner) and his daughter, Michelle (Jeffrey) Baldwin and his son, Barry (Samantha) Fralick, all of Marathon. Granddaughters Katie (Daniel Tripodi) Baldwin and Deanna Baldwin, both of Syracuse and grandson, Barry J. Fralick of Marathon. He is also survived by his brother, Gene (Linda) Fralick of Whitney Point, sisters Joan (James) Contri and Cathy (Alan) Maricle, both of Marathon; his maternal aunt, Jeri Doud of Phoenix, Az, his maternal uncle, Carl Vincent of Sebring, FL, his mother in law, Paticia Kirchner and sister in law, Lisa (Jim Boughton) Kirchner, both of Marathon. Plus several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by his stepfather, Arlin G. Tyler.
At Barry’s request, graveside services will be held on May 12, 2023 at 12:30 PM at the Marathon Cemetery.
