Barbara L. Hyde Swan

Barbara Louise Hyde Swan, 87, passed away on Saturday Dec 31, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband, William, her parents Frederick and Hazel Miner Hyde and brother Herbert. She is survived by her children, Debra (Craig) Abbey, David (Joan), Daniel, Cathleen (Daniel) Piatt, Robert (Mary Ann), 8 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Philip) Metcalf, April Stoeckel, Beth (Mike) Burleigh, Brandon Stoeckel. Justin (Jennifer) Swan, Heather Orr, Ashley Piatt, Megan (John) Kimble, and 14 Great Grandchildren.  She graduated from Whitney Point High School and Ridley School of Business. Barbara was a member of the Whitney Point United Methodist Church and held many offices, prepared many dinners and played the organ for numerous church services.  She was a 4-H leader, volunteered at the Well Baby Clinics, and made and donated many quilts for numerous groups.  Barbara spent her married life as a homemaker and volunteered in many ways in the Whitney Point community. The family will receive friends on Saturday January 7. 2023 at Sunset Memorial Services, 2659 Main Street, Whitney Point, NY from 9:30 to 11:30 with funeral following at 11:30 with Pastor Amy Winnie officiating.  Burial will be at the Glen Aubrey Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Whitney Point United Methodist Church, 7311 Collins Street, Whitney Point, NY, 13862. Arrangements are in the care of James Shara.
