Arthur F. Ensign, 92, of Marathon passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017. He is predeceased by wives, Eleanor (Pierce) Ensign, Diane Ensign, parents Frank & Alene, brothers, Bill & Hugh Ensign, sisters Cora & Rita Ensign, daughter, Bonnie Parker and grandson, Nathan.
He is survived by his children: William (Melanie) Ensign, Colleen (Lanny) Northrup, Randy (Joann) Ensign, Reed Ensign (Laurie), son-in-law, Milton Parker, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, sisters, Jean (Gus) Carmen, Mary (Arne) Lih, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Art was a dairy farmer, lifetime member of both the Marathon Fire Department and Methodist Church. He was the Highway Superintendent for 22 years before retiring in 1987. Art was one of the Marathon Maple Festival founders. He was a school bus driver, avid fisherman, hunter and maple syrup producer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 11:30 AM until service time at 1:30 PM at the Marathon Methodist Church, Marathon, NY. Interment will follow in the Marathon Cemetery.
