Anne Hilderbrant Obituary

Anne M. Hilderbrant, 76, of Whitney Point, NY, sadly left us on February 2, 2023, with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Concetta Conti, and longtime friend, Elaine Adams. Anne leaves behind her devoted husband Jim, of 53 years, 4 children, Tanya (Kevin), Allison, Todd (Beth), Matt (Aimee), 7 grandchildren, Destinee, Damian, Colleen, Cortney, Hadley, Evelyn, Olivia, and one great grandson, Jeremiah, brother, Billy, cousin, Carol, and the many friends and family she loved very much.

Anne was born and raised in Rochester, NY and graduated from Saint Agnes High School in 1965.  She met Jim while working at her father’s meat processing plant. The two began dating and married on August 23, 1969. They later moved to Groton, NY where they built their first home and befriended their tightknit group of friends, Diane and Jim Basil, Elaine and John Adams, Mary and Lyle Neigh, and Carol LePlant; all of whom became part of Anne and Jim’s family as the years passed. In 1986, Anne and Jim moved to Whitney Point, NY where they settled and raised their 4 children. Anne was the Deputy Town Clerk for the town of Barker from 1990-2007. She also was the Records Inventory Clerk in the Village of Whitney Point from 1995-2007.  She truly enjoyed working in her community and always being in the loop of small-town gossip and latest emergency calls. She was often called “Breaker-Breaker Annie” by her family. Whenever sirens were heard, a quick call to Anne and you would know exactly what was going on, as she always had her scanner on.

Anne adored her family, and just as equally, their friends. Her door was always open for her kids’ friends, boyfriends and girlfriends. For many years, her house was busy and full of the people she loved and took care of. You could always count on her making enough food to feed an army when friends were over and she religiously had a big pot of spaghetti on Sundays. Her home was also open to the many pets that came through the door, including the countless cats, bunnies, and their dogs, Snuffy, Mufassa and Maggie .  Anne also enjoyed watching her squirrels. She was well-known for hosting beautiful Christmas parties with lots of family and friends.  Anne was also a daily shopper at Greggs Big M, just to grab her newspaper and milk, and everybody knew her by name. Anne was also a talented ancestry researcher and avid reader. One of her most favorite things to do in this world, was to be surrounded by her family and friends reminiscing and spending time with her grandkids, all whom she was incredibly proud of.

It's difficult to imagine life here on Earth without this incredible, special human being. Anne touched the lives of so many, and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again, Mom, may you rejoice in the company of those gone before you. May your heart be at peace and all the pain gone. We love and miss you so very much…
